Does it lose speed when connecting several devices?
No. The ACT1003 distributes the gigabit among its 3 ports according to what each device is using at any given time, just like any home switch, maintaining the speed within the limits of the available bandwidth.
What is IGMP Snooping used for?
Optimizes traffic on IP multicast networks, improving performance for services that use it, such as your operator's IP television or some streaming services.
What is the difference compared with the ACT-2003?
Both have 3 Ethernet outputs. The difference lies in the POF ports: the ACT1003 has only one, making it an "end of line" device. The ACT-2003 has two, so it can act as an intermediate point and continue carrying the fiber to another location. If your network ends at this point, the ACT1003 is sufficient.
Does it include the plastic optical fiber cable?
No. The ACT1003 is sold as a standalone component and includes only the converter and its power supply. The POF cable is purchased separately, cut to the length you need. If you are looking for a complete pack with everything you need, see the kits section.
Is it better than WiFi?
Yes, it offers greater stability and is not affected by walls, appliances, or other networks, unlike WiFi or PLC.
Is it difficult to install?
No. Installation is simple and adaptable: connect the POF cable to the converter and plug the converter into a power outlet, and you can then connect your equipment via Ethernet. It is compatible with ICT2 regulations and existing conduits.
What if I only need to connect 1 device?
If you are only going to connect one device, the ACT1001 will be more economical, with 1 Ethernet port instead of 3.
