Single, Kit Básico Económico, or Kit Básico: what's the difference?

This is the question we receive most often. Here's the answer without the marketing:

Kit Single

The simplest configuration. Two POF converters, one at the router and the other in the destination area.

A single device connected by cable at the other end. Ideal if you only want to bring internet to your PC, console, or smart TV.

Kit Básico Económico

Same philosophy as the Single, but it allows you to connect several devices in the destination area.

Price-optimized configuration: pay less while retaining the ability to plug in more than one device.

Kit Básico

The most complete version for 1 area. Connect up to 3 devices with higher-end converters.

More headroom for demanding installations or longer runs. The premium option among single-area kits.

In short: if you're going to plug in more than one device at the destination end, move up from the Single to the Kit Básico Económico or Kit Básico.

Which kit is right for your type of home

Detached house, large duplex, or small office Kit Premium Up to 5 points to cover the entire area without dead spots

Why choose a Snap Data kit instead of the operator's FTTR?

Operators now offer FTTR (Fiber to the Room) services for a monthly fee. Compared with a Snap Data kit:

Concept Operator FTTR Snap Data kit
Initial cost Installation + service activation One-time kit payment
Monthly fee €5 to €15 / month depending on the operator 0 €
Accumulated cost over 5 years Between €300 and €900 in instalments €0 (already paid for)
If you change operator You lose the service The kit is yours and keeps working
Work in the home No No, use existing conduits
Actual speed 1 Gbps 1 Gbps

The kit typically pays for itself between the first and second year. From then on, it’s all savings.

Frequently asked questions about choosing a kit

What if I’m not sure what cable length I need?

Measure the route from your router to where you want to bring the internet, following the walls and skirting boards. Add a 20% margin for curves and corners. The kits are available in 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 metres.

Does it work inside my existing electrical conduits?

Yes. POF fibre has a diameter of 2.2 mm, making it much thinner than an Ethernet cable, and it is flexible. It passes easily through the same conduits already used by your electrical or telephone installation.

Can I expand the kit later if I need another area?

Yes. We offer expansion packs with additional converters compatible with any Snap Data kit. If you start with a Single and later want a second area, you don’t have to discard anything you’ve already bought.

Is the installation complicated?

No. The kit includes everything (including the fibre cutter) and a step-by-step manual. Most customers install it in under an hour without technical knowledge.

Do I lose speed compared with my router’s speed?

No. The 1 Gbps kits maintain 100% of your router’s speed up to 50 metres. If your fibre connection is 600 Mbps, you receive a real 600 Mbps in the target area. Without the typical loss associated with WiFi or PLC.
